We, the trustees, are going to try something different. We are going to try to post monthly updates, requests and general information. The information will be posted on the Alumni website (www.shsalumni.com) and the Facebook group (www.facebook.com/groups/shsalumnivt)
Each class’s point of contact will receive the email to pass along. If we are a member of your class Facebook page, we will post our update.
Being the end of November, we would normally be in full gear preparing for the Unicorn Craft Fair held annually on the first Saturday in December. COVID restrictions for non-educational use of the Riverside Middle School as our venue, prohibit the event again this year. Let’s hope that we will be bigger and better next year.
Those of you that have a reunion year in 2022, don’t forget that it is NEVER too early to start thinking about building a float, planning a reunion get-together or just come see friends and family. Watch the parade and join the fun. Don’t forget to register your float so your spot is reserved.
We want to thank those wonderful people who have been supporting us with donations for our operational fund and of course for the scholarship funds that have been created. The seniors need our help every year. They can use these scholarships for college, community college, trade schools and most any other further education. We fund-raise to help earn money to put into these accounts to help them stay healthy. We cannot do this alone. Any amount that you can give is greatly appreciated. We can receive checks and we have donation buttons on our website where you can make a donation with your credit card. We have three new scholarships that will be added to the website within the next couple month.
Each year we try to honor a special person or persons that have given to the Springfield community. We have had teachers, coaches, town fathers/mother, etc. Do you have someone that you think should be honored? The trustees have some new ideas to possibly change up what is usually done on Alumni weekend. We want to have the fun start Friday morning with the Golf tournament and run all weekend. Right now they all are in the planning and investigation stages. STAY TUNED, we will be giving you more information as it becomes available.
