Latest News from President Jean Patoine

Good Day Alums,

It has been way too long since we posted news from the Alumni Association.

2022 is here and the Alumni trustees have plans in the works for a “normal” Alumni weekend for you the best Alums in the state. Alumni weekend is June 17th thru June 19th (Father’s Day weekend).

The weekend begins with the Golf tournament on Friday, June 17th. Look on our website (SHSAlumni.com) under the event tab for more information on how to enter the tournament, etc. There is going to be lots of great golf plus some side events like the Air Cannon, raffle items from our local businesses and 50/50 raffle.

Saturday, June 18th we will have the Alumni parade back. Parade starts in motion at 10:30am, from the LBL parking lot on Clinton Street and ending at the parking lot at Riverside Middle School. There will be judging of class floats along the parade route and a special presentation in the square by a local dance group. As of today, we have six classes registered to participate in the parade.

A new event this year will be the Alumni corn hole tournament, starting at 1pm at our local Springfield Elks club. More news to come.

As we stated earlier this year, we are not going to have a newsletter this year because of all the uncertainty of what has and still going on around the state. Updates will be posted on this website and our Facebook page as they happen.

We ask that you all be patience with us this year especially while we are rebuilding the Alumni events. This is all being done by a shorthanded board of trustees.

If anyone of you is interested in getting involved, please contact any of the trustees for more information on how to get on the board. Also, we are always looking for volunteers to help in some compacity. To hold our events, it takes a village to make them happen.

Lastly, we have plans in the works to “hopefully” be at Riverside Middle School in December with the Unicorn Craft fair.

GLORY TO SPRINGFIELD!!!

GO COSMOS
